Mind Blowing Stats

Hot Starts

With the Falcons scoring a touchdown on their opening drive against the Packers, Atlanta made it eight straight games in which they’ve scored a touchdown on their first possession.

On Fire

Atlanta haven’t lost since Week 13 and they beat the in-form Green Bay Packers, who’d been on an eight-game winning streak in the NFC Championship game. Atlanta averaged 39 points per game and posted a +12 turnover differential in this time.

Second time’s a charm?

In their 51-year existence, the Falcons have won the NFC just twice. Their only appearance in the Super Bowl came back in Super Bowl 33 when they lost to Denver Broncos 34-19.

Key Individuals

Matt Ryan (Quarterback)

Ryan is the favourite to be named this year’s MVP and he’s been outstanding all season. The quarterback set a career high 4,944 yards and 33 touchdowns this season as they peaked in the second half.

Julio Jones (Wide Receiver)

Jones posted a 300-yard game early in the season and hasn’t looked back. He was dominant in the NFC Championship game against Green Bay and he strikes fear into the hearts of opposing defences.

Vic Beasley (Defensive End)

Beasley had a quiet start to life in the NFL, but the second year sprung into life this season, making 8.5 sacks between Weeks 5 and 10. He finished as the league leader in sacks (15.5) and was a key part of a fast-improving Falcons defence.
